UMF-Snowcats Program   -

The UMF SnowCats Learn to Ski Program is an after-school program for children in grades K-3. The program this year will be coordinated by the new UMF Alpine Operations Coordinator, in conjunction with the University of Maine Farmington Fitness and Recreation Center, and held at Titcomb Mountain.

Dates: January 26 – March 3, 2016 (No classes during February Vacation 2/16 & 2/18); Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:45pm-5:45pm

Program Costs: $50 for members (child must hold Titcomb membership); $90 per student for non-members of Farmington Ski Club

Parent Orientation: You are highly encouraged to attend Parent orientation will be held at Titcomb Mountain in Farmington Thursday January 21, 2016 at 7pm.                                                             We will review program goals, expectations and logistic.


This program does not provide equipment; however, Northern Lights will be offering daily rentals for $5 and a program duration package for $50. The rental program is not a season long lease program. Rental fees are paid to Northern Lights, located at Titcomb Mountain.

Transportation/ Parent Car Pool

Parents/caregivers are responsible for providing their child with rides to and from Titcomb Mountain. A participant phone list will be given out for the parents to arrange car pooling at their convenience. To be included on this phone list, you need to declare your interest on the registration form.

Inclement Weather

In the event of inclement weather, parents are encouraged to visit home page slider for cancellation notices or contact the Fitness and Recreation Center at 778-7495, to ensure lessons are still being held. Generally lessons are held, even on SAD 9 or UMF snow days, unless the mountain closes or mountain conditions are deemed unsafe.

 Registration Information

Registration deadline is Friday, January 8, 2016 . This program has limited space for participation, which will be based on the ratio of UMF student instructors available. Space is on a first come first served basis.
